The Isa Mundo Foundation visited the Children's Village of Casa Guatemala, an orphanage located on the shores of Rio Dulce, Guatemala. The orphanage is home to approximately 250 children and youth between 5 and 16 years of age. These children come to the Children's Village due to abandonment, abuse, and extreme poverty issues. There are also a number of children whose families live in such poverty and isolation that the Children's Village is the only hope for the proper nutrition and education of their children.
The Children's Village is sustained by a devoted staff and many volunteers working together with the children to maintain their fish ponds, green house, agriculture and animal farms, clinic and schools.
In partnership with the Emmanuel Foundation, Isa Mundo donated computers to Casa Guatemala in March 2008. Access to computers and educational software will provide the children with an opportunity to use these important education tools and keep them engaged and actively learning.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
